Home hospitalization is medical care delivered at your home — daily IV fluids, injectable medications, wound care, and monitoring — for pets who would otherwise be boarded in a clinic during illness or recovery. A MOCCAE-licensed vet visits once or twice daily, administers treatment, and uploads case notes to your Digitail profile.

Post-surgical recovery, chronic kidney disease (CKD), feline diabetes, palliative and end-of-life care, cats with appetite loss in clinic environments, geriatric patients, and chronic disease management. Cases requiring continuous monitoring, oxygen therapy, or surgery are not suitable and must be managed in-clinic.

Most cases require once-daily visits. Critical early-recovery cases may need twice-daily. Chronic conditions like CKD often transition to every-other-day as the pet stabilises, with owner training for interim care.

Costs vary by case. Home hospitalization removes boarding fees but includes vet travel time. For many chronic and recovery cases, it is comparable or less expensive than clinic stays — and often produces better clinical outcomes because pets eat, sleep, and heal better at home.
